P-line phones from Lenovo – this is usually mid-range smartphones with larger battery. To date, the newest models of P-line are Vibe P1m and more interesting by design and specs Vibe P1, which just came to us for review.

Lenovo Vibe P1 has a 5.5-inch IPS-screen with a Full HD resolution, not the most modern, but efficient eight-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage. Housing Lenovo P1 Vibe mainly made of metal. Below the screen the phone has a fingerprint scanner, which previously could be meet only in high-end models. And of course the main feature of the P-line – the battery capacity of 5000 mAh. Not a record, but a very decent rate.
Lenovo Vibe P1 comes in a small box in a black-and-blue color scheme. Package is quite interesting: in addition to the smartphone, package has a 2 amp power supply with supporting QuickCharge 2.0, cable, instructions, a simple headset and OTG-adapter, which is useful for connecting external media and It allows you to charge your smartphone from other devices.
Lenovo Vibe P1 appearance review
The front panel does not have some features in terms of appearance: large screen with safety glass, set of sensors, a front camera, earpiece and LED-indicator on the screen. Under the screen are located two touch-sensitive buttons and one mechanical button, which is also the fingerprint scanner. Incidentally, the event indicator – it is bright enough. Touch buttons with backlight, scanner button has a matte surface, and metal edging.
On the left side is located the slider, which is responsible for the inclusion of energy-saving mode. Below phone body are located the Micro-USB connector and small holes, which are located under the spoken microphone and an external speaker. The power button and the volume control are located on the right side of smartphone. They are also good fit, although there is a minimum clearance. They stick out enough from the phone body and press them comfortable. At the top end – a headphone jack 3.5 mm, and an additional microphone.
A back cover of the Lenovo Vibe P1 is almost entirely made of metal, only the top and bottom there are small inserts for plastic antennas. In appearance it resembles the HTC One. At the bottom located the Lenovo logo and technical information, on top – big Vibe logo, NFC icon and module of the main camera. The back cover of the smartphone is not demountable. To access the SIM card and memory card, you must remove the top plastic insert.
Despite the impressive size and weight, Lenovo Vibe P1 comfortably fits in your hand thanks to the convex shape of the rear cover. The smartphone is assembled well and looks quite expensive, this is largely the merit of a metal back cover.
Lenovo Vibe P1 screen
The smartphone uses a 5.5-inch screen with IPS-matrix and a resolution of Full HD, pixel density 401 ppi – quite a modern display with good characteristics. With viewing angles are fine, they are maximized, as always with IPS. Maximum brightness of the screen is bit small. For summer sun its may be not enough.
The screen is protected by glass Gorilla Glass 3, and has a good oleophobic coating. Multi-Touch support with up to 10 simultaneous touch points.
Performance, memory and sound of Lenovo Vibe P1
Lenovo Vibe P1 has the eight cores Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with a graphics accelerator Adreno 405 and 2GB of RAM. Not the best specs, but quite powerful combination. It is enough for an absolutely smooth operation of the smartphone, the normal operation of any application and for most of the games. Only in the most demanding games such as Mortal Kombat X there is a slight lag of the FPS.
The internal flash memory in Vibe p1a42 of 32 GB, has a slot for a MicroSD, which is not aligned from SIM, so give up the second SIM-card is not necessary. The external speaker is loud enough, although the quality is falling at maximum volume. For this indicator, the smartphone does not stand out. The headphones sound pretty good, it would be sufficient for the average quality of the user. Own application for music phone does not have, but there’s Play Music app.
Lenovo Vibe P1 has all the necessary wireless modules: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, NFC and GPS. It all works fine, without any problems.
Lenovo Vibe P1 cameras
The main camera of Lenovo Vibe P1 has a resolution of 13 megapixels, a dual LED flash and autofocus. Front camera – 5 megapixel. The interface is simple and easy to use: all you need is right on the screen. The settings menu is extremely friendly, there are a variety of special effects. Interesting feature: you can make a quick photo with the locked phone by double-clicking on the volume down button.
The main camera works good with the sufficient light, quickly focuses and making a quite good photos. When poor light a quality is very strongly falls. Get a good HDR-shot is very difficult, most are blurry. The video quality is poor. Front camera nothing special stands out – for selfie-shots is quite good.
Highlight of Lenovo Vibe P1 – large capacity battery
The main feature Lenovo Vibe P1 it’s battery at 5000 mAh. As we know, a large battery capacity does not always guarantee a long work time. In this case, it did not happen – the smartphone really long runs on a single battery charge.
At very active use of phone the battery was suffice for almost 13 hours of work! In normal use, the battery of the phone should be enough for 4-5 days. One more plus – phone supported the fast charging Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 (by the way, new flagship HTC 10 have a Quick Charge 3.0). With it, the battery is fully charged in a little more than 2 hours. And this with the capacity of 5000mAh, really cool!
Ultimately, the Lenovo Vibe P1 quite interesting mainly due to high-capacity battery and good autonomy. The advantages also include a metal casing, good build quality and excellent color reproduction of display. But quality of the main camera and low maximum brightness of screen spoil the overall impression.
